AMHERSTBURG — Get ready for the cabaret as it returns to the community later this month.
The Down River Entertainers and the Rotary Club of Amherstburg present "The Melodies of Christmas" with four shows. The dinner theatre runs at the Verdi Club Nov. 13, 14, 20 and 21.
"We love to entertain," said show committee president Mary Johnson. "We just love to entertain."
Johnson said with the show being backed by the Rotary Club, proceeds raised from the four shows go to benefit Rotary ventures. Johnson said rehearsals for this year's show began as early as May 1 when the dancers started working on this year's performances. The choir has been rehearsing every Wednesday morning in the Marine Room at Duffy's Tavern for the last several weeks under the direction of musical director Chris Borschuk and choir director Rick Wilson.
"This is a great way to start the Christmas season," said Johnson. "Everyone has a great time."
The show annually features singing, dancing and comedy numbers. Johnson said they are trying to cut the show roughly in half so that people can get out by approximately 9:30 p.m. She said they are hopeful the public will come out and support them like they do every year.
Tickets are $35 each and available at Our Place. Doors open at 5 p.m., dinner is at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 7:30 p.m.
